It’s been 5 weeks since we picked up Zoe from Barcs.org as a foster dog, and ended up adopting her. She is doing great. Every dog is an individual therefore the acclimation time could be days, weeks or months. And with that in mind, this is how she is doing:
- Walking – because her pulling is minimal, I am able to walk all 3 dogs at the same time!
- Crate – she waits patiently while I take the other dogs out of the car without any whining.
- At home – her pacing is on the decline!
- Abby and Charlie – she gets along with both of them although I think she’s in love with Charlie.
- Bed – she is learning to stay in bed longer than before specially when we’ve had a couple of walks.
I love to see the progress Zoe is making and seeing her flourish makes me happy beyond words. Shelter dogs come with many challenges, as some of you that have adopted already know, but they are worth it. Stay safe and have a great week!

It is great that you adopted Zoe. Is she the dog in the middle?
Thanks. Yes, she’s the one in the middle.
