Missing Alex – Happy 14th Birthday

It’s been a couple of months since Alex passed away and we still miss her very much.  Today, May 5th, would have been her 14th birthday.  I do wish we had more time together, but I am grateful for the time we spent with her.  What Alex enjoyed the most was sunbathing.  There were times when I had to tell her to come in or move away from the sliding doors because she was already panting.  Funny how you miss the little things about those you love and are no longer with us.

Happy birthday my amazing girl.  We love you dearly.  Till we see each other again.

      She certainly was. Thanks:-)

  2. Marcela and Cynthia, I’m sorry to hear of your loss.

My Sugar passed away three years ago after our life of fifteen years together. I have a photo book of her pictures by my computer and I carry her in my heart. I miss her. Though I can smile at the memories.

Thanks for your kind words. How wonderful that you spent 15 years of your life with your Sugar. You truly loved her and I am sure she did too. I keep Alex’s pictures in albums, my phone, walls, etc. I miss her dearly just like you miss your Sugar. I firmly believe that dogs make you see things differently and in my case I was a better person when she was by my side. I have great memories of my Alex and she’ll forever be in my heart and thoughts. Sugar had a wonderful pet parent, you.

      1. Thank you, too.
        🙂

  3. She may be gone, but clearly she’s not forgotten. May those sweet memories of her life with you provide comfort. ღ

Remember her tail that felt like a whip? Great memories:-)

Yes, I still got the marks on my legs! Just kidding. But yes, how can I forget:)

When we lose those we love, what we remember are their little quirks. Thanks for putting a smile on my face:-)

How sad! So sorry for the loss of your beautiful furry companion. I recently found a great dog quote from Sir Walter Scott which I’ve incorporated into a letter from John Updike on dogs: https://beyondtheflow.wordpress.com/2016/04/29/u-john-updike-on-dogs-atozchallenge/
I hope it makes sense. I wrote a series of letters to dead poets for the A-Z Challenge and dogs were an undercurrent throughout. I have two much loved dogs.
    xx Rowena
