My dogs have certainly altered the way I live my life, and as time goes by I’ve realized that they have greatly enriched it as so many of you, pet parents, already know. Here’s my list:

• Housing – since the time we got our dogs, we had to make sure that dogs were allowed without breed restrictions whey we were renting an apartment. When we finally bought our first house, I wanted to live in an area where I could walk them peacefully, meaning I didn’t have to be dodging cars, buses, etc.
• Car – since our dogs are usually small to medium size, a car that is lower to the ground works well for us. Currently I am using a small step ladder for Abby that she navigates quite well.
• Significant Other – I don’t think I could live with a person that didn’t accept my dogs.
• Daily Schedule – most of the time, we walk twice a day, but because of the weather many times I have to make adjustments to our schedule in order to make sure that they get the exercise they need.
  

Prior to having dogs, none of the above was really a concern to me. Can you see how dogs guide you to live your life differently? With that being said, in what ways has your dog changed the way you live your life?
