Charlie’s Nightmare: Going To The Vet

on

Abby, “Mom, could we trade Charlie for a small toy?”

Charlie’s nightmare is going to the vet and I had to take him this week for his annual checkup and vaccines and I was pleasantly surprised with him and the vet.

Charlie’s antics are worth of being featured in a Broadway production, but this time, to my surprise, he was better than he’s ever been before. When I was driving back home, I was so happy that I was about to cry. Yes, about to cry.

I took him to Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital and Charlie was seen by Dr. Keegan. To say that she was patient, understanding, and professional would be an understatement. I finally, after 2 long years, found a vet that understood dog behavior and how this affects the way a dog reacts to different things. Thanks a million to Dr. Keegan and her staff for the amazing job you do in taking care of our furry kids.

And with that being said, if you are not happy with your vet, keep looking like I did til you find the right vet for your dog. Enjoy your weekend.

  1. Rejoice! So glad Charlie had a ‘good’ vet visit. It makes us pet moms feel so much better when they don’t completely go off the rails at the vets.

      You and me both!

  2. I am so glad that you finally have a veterinarian who Charlie is comfortable with. We also have a very good Vet. However, in general our dogs have not had issues with the vet. Maybe because we give them a treat at the vet and often take them to a dog store afterwards.

Chester loves going to the vet because they are so understanding. I’m happy that you found someone like that! It’s a world of difference!

Omg, totally. I was super discouraged since I was looking for about 2 years.
