This week I went to run some errands and when I came back, Alex greeted me with so much enthusiasm that she ended up hurting her front right leg. We usually walk for about 40-60 minutes twice a day, but since Thursday she is on bed rest.
Alex’s favorite pastime is sleeping, but I don’t think she is very happy with the amount of bed rest she has been subjected to since Thursday. Today, Friday, she was not limping, but when she came back in after peeing in my backyard she ran going up the stairs and by the afternoon she started to limp a bit. That’s it. She will be on bed rest until her leg heals completely.
I love my girl, but sometimes her enthusiasm gets out of hand and she ends up hurting herself. Alex will be staying at home with Cynthia so she can recuperate while I walk and continue exploring our neighborhood with Sienna and Roxy.

Awww sending you both big hugs. My dogs do something like that probably once a year (one or the other) I know how it hurts Us when they are hurt! They are our babies and I hope your’s feels better soon. Here’s to healthy pain free holiday 🙂

I feel your pain about the end up hurting themselves via fervent enthusiasm! Speedy recovery to Alex and maybe a nice bully stick or something to chew will keep her still.

Oh man, this just happened with Eko – keeping them off their feet is next to impossible! Hopefully she’ll be back to full strength soon.
Tell me about it:) I have to put a leash on her in order to take her to my back yard so she can do her business. She sprained it last Thurs. and Friday morning she was find, but then she started running and it got worse. Yes, it is close to impossible, but you know what? I believe I am much more stubborn than she is so she will be on bed rest for a while:)
Hope she feels better. Rio says, “I wish I could lick you all better, but my mother would not like me slobbering all over the computer screen.”

Poor Alex. I hope she gets to watch a lot of Animal Planet for distraction. Cricket would be in heaven if she could have TWO long walks a day. She’s sitting here pouting.
