Btw, whether you adopt from a shelter or buy from a breeder, make sure that you start working with your dog right away. Charlie is wearing a leash and collar inside the house. Why? Because I started behavior modification and training right away. I use this method with most dogs for a day or two. After that, the majority of dogs understand what is expected of them.

Charlie was and continues to be a source of learning, tweaking-some things work for him while others do not-joy, and at times a pain in the neck. But you know what? That’s just life. He has made amazing progress, but I remind myself and my clients, that they need consistency.

I’ll be honest when I say that I’d prefer for people to adopt from shelters, but getting a dog is something very personal, so that’s up to you, but please start behavior and training right away, and you’ll have-as time goes by-an amazing dog. Take care.
