Yesterday, Saturday, was a gorgeous day so we decided to go to Little Italy, also know as the North End, in Boston, MA. Cynthia and I agreed that we are going to do our best to see as much of Massachusetts as we possibly can while we live here. When we lived in Maryland, DC was a 20 minute drive from home and we failed to see a lot of it and so we don’t want to make the same mistake again.

We took Abby and Emmie for a nice walk around Little Italy, and Cynthia found 2 bakeries, forgot the names, where she got some delicious bread. I am sure we’ll be heading that way many more times in the future.

Our trip was about 3 hours long, let’s not forget the traffic coming and going, and afterwards everybody was tired, thirsty, hungry and sleepy. After we all had a nice lunch, we took a well deserved nap. And that’s what I call a well spent Saturday.
I used to love sitting out front of the Italian bakeries in the North End, and enjoying coffee & a treat. Your post brings back fond memories. Mongo’s never been to Boston, but our golden retrievers used to get to visit the city. Of course Mongo gets to hang out in sidewalk cafes in Seattle, which is pretty much the same. Anyway, here’s a link for one of my favorite restaurants in the North End. Ciao!

Thanks a million. We are just starting to explore Boston so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Kita’s favorite place is the local park. This is because we don’t have any grass in our yards (because of the drought). When I was training Kita, there was a Vons and an In-And-Out nearby. Boy, it must have been hard to just “sit”, “down”, and “stay” when there was a perfectly-good hamburger so close by!
Lol. We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants because what I wanted to do was expose Abby and Emmie to an environment that was new and hectic. Now, the next time we’ll figure something out and see if we can eat there:-)
Sounds like it was a great day out 🙂 We are doing something similar by trying to make sure we don’t overlook local spots and to try new places out rather than going to the same areas all the time.
Great. I am glad you are doing the same. Yes, discovering new places is fun for both humans and furry kids.
Oh man…you had me at bakery! 😉 Nice images all around.
Lol. I am glad I did.
