I took this picture while Dieter and Alex were asleep, but the flash woke up Dieter. Alex is so used to it that she can sleep right through it. This 4th of July was uneventful and enjoyable. Uneventful because nothing out of the ordinary happened, and enjoyable because even though we were able to hear the fireworks from Ft. Meade, Alex and Dieter only barked once and after that they went to their beds to sleep.
Bella and Milo, from left to right, were not as cooperative for this photo shoot as Dieter and Alex were, therefore I had to put a collar and leash on Milo. Because the temperature will be pretty high this weekend, we’ll take Bella and Milo for some mini-walks rather than 2 long walks. Make sure that you adjust your walks based on your dog’s age, activity level, weight, and of course, weather. Happy 4th of July weekend to all pet parents and their canine companions.

We took a nice long morning walk on Christmas day, and before I took their coats off and brushed them, I had to take pictures of them wearing their coats. Roxy was delighted wearing this sweater even though it is a little small for her.
Roxy and Jupiter
Then, it was Jupiter’s turn. He actually does not mind wearing a coat even though his face says otherwise.
Alex, Roxy and Jupiter
We took all the canine kids out on the deck for a photo shoot, but as you can see they were not really in the mood to pose, but rather ready to go to sleep.

But then, I showed them a treat, and Voila! They are all ready to pose.
Oh, oh. Hurry up taking the picture. I am losing Alex already!
Jupiter, Alex and Roxy. (from L to R)
Since Christmas here in Odenton, MD was a nice day, I removed their jackets to take this picture before going back inside.
Roxy and Jupiter
Once inside, it was time to go to sleep. Jupiter was exhausted, but I think Roxy really liked posing for all those pictures. We bundled her up and got her ready for a nap. As you can see, our Christmas day was uneventful, but fun because we shared it with our Alex, and our two canine guests, Roxy and Jupiter. We hope you had a great time as well.
Cynthia was in a cooking frenzy on Christmas eve, and as you can see she was so into it that she did not even have time to turn around for this picture.
Jupiter was extremely adamant that Christmas eve dinner needed to be guarded properly so he took that job himself and held watch while Cynthia was cooking.
Roxy and Jupiter
As customary, Roxy and Jupiter stayed in the kitchen with Cynthia, “helping” her prepare dinner.
Alex had a completely different idea than Roxy and Jupiter. Alex did not guard the food nor help cook dinner. She preferred to go to her bed and fall asleep. Our little princess.
Christmas eve dinner
We finally sat down to eat and Cynthia cooked what I requested, plantains, pork, and salad, along with wine. Delicious. We had a peaceful and uneventful Christmas eve with our Alex and canine guests. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well.
Alex and Sienna sunbathing
Most of the doggies that stay with us, love to sunbathe and the most sought out place in my house is by the sliding door that leads to the deck, as you can see by this picture.
Josie, Alex, and Sienna
Darn it! I had the tv on and someone rang the bell. The sounds from a tv set nowdays is so realistic that it woke up the kids. They really thought there was someone at the door, but it was just the tv. Also, I put a bigger bed for Sienna, but she prefers her little one.
Josie, a beautiful weimaraner, wanted her picture taken all by herself and I, of course, obliged.
I did not get a chance to take a picture of all of them asleep, but I’ll try next time. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy your loved ones.
This year I decided not to make Alex wear her pumpkin costume. I was debating about whether or not to do it, but for one, Alex does not like to wear a costume, and two, I promised another blogger that as a sign of solidarity I’ll let Halloween go by without making a big deal about it.
I cannot promise the same for next year, but this year, Alex slept peacefully right next to me while I watched TV.
This is not a costume, but rather what Alex wears at home when she is cold.
