To say that Abby loves to run while I bike ride would be an understatement. Btw, Abby is already 8 years old but her energy is something I envy, just don’t tell her I said that.
Because this Summer has been so hot and I was unable to walk them twice a day as it’s customary for us to do, so I ended up doing a combo of walk and bike in the morning, and let me tell you that I don’t think they missed that second walk.
on our first bike/run, I had to make Abby slow down because she was pulling me. Once she remembered how we used to do this she was fine.
Charlie, on the other hand, needed a lot of encouragement, “Come on Charlie, you can do this. Let’s go. Come on, come on, come on.” I am not lying. I put more effort in the encouragement department than in the actual bike riding itself.
And so I was reminded of what I usually tell my clients, “Every dog is different.” So I decided to bike/run with Abby and to walk longer with Charlie. He will run only if I see that he’s interested otherwise forget it.
Before I forget, yours truly the day we walked and biked ended up taking a 3 hour nap, something I rarely ever do.
